A rapid, accurate volumetric procedure is described for the determination of acetate and free alkali in stagnate immersion baths. Both determinations are made on one sample with no interference from phosphate, stagnate and carbonate salts. Gas liquid chromatography (GLC) is used qualitatively to detect salts of other organic acids.
