Use of High School Record Information in Predicting Success in Electronics Training

摘要

High school record information (along with test information) was used to predict technical school performance of 433 airmen completing Air Force courses for which a score of 80 on the Electronics Aptitude Index was recommended. It was found that presently used information on the completion of five high school courses is useful in adding to the prediction of a technical school grade criterion, and that information on other high school courses improves this prediction significantly. A further increase in the predictive utility of high school record information can be realized if level-of-performance information on certain high school courses is added to completion data on those same courses.
