摘要

From the VGH oscillograms recorded on F-5A and F-105D aircraft operating in the Vietnam theater, a set of data was prepared to describe the aircraft environment during five types of weapon passes: bomb delivery, ground gunnery, rocket delivery, napalm delivery, and CBU delivery. In the generation of the desired data, parameters were selected to reflect the load factors in weapon passes as a function of weight, airspeed, Mach number, altitude, store configuration, fuel weight, dive angle, and climb-out angle, as well as of weapon pass type and aircraft type. From the F-5A 1551 hours of combat data recorded in 1638 flights, the resultant data represent 3083 bomb deliveries, 3369 ground gunnery passes, 131 rocket deliveries, 1360 napalm deliveries, and 110 CBU deliveries. And from the F-105D 2934 hours of combat data recorded in 1241 flights, the resultant data represent 974 bomb deliveries, 399 ground gunnery passes, and an insignificant number of the other three pass types. In a limited statistical analysis of the results, the normal distribution proved a good probability model for most of the tested peak load factor distributions. Peak load factors were higher at higher values of airspeed, dive angle, and climb angle, and lower at higher values of percentage of fuel and weight. The F-105D peak load factor distribution was more severe than the F-5A distribution for bomb delivery passes and about the same as the F-5A distribution for the ground gunnery passes. (Author)
