CV/CVA (Aircraft Carrier/Attack Aircraft Carrier) Inventory Management Simulation

The study analyzes the impact on investment, workload, and requisition effectiveness of changes to the management controls available in the SUADPS-EU (Shipboard Uniform Automatic Data Processing System-End User) Demand History Processing Module (DI 073). The objective of the analysis is to develop current statistical relationships, based on the inventories of the USS AMERICA (CVA 66) and the USS SARATOGA (CV 60), to support future management decisions concerning settings of the management controls in the DI 073. A computer simulation model, with historical demand data applicable to the aforementioned ships, is utilized in conducting the analysis. The findings of the study indicate that reductions in CV/CVA inventories can be effected through selective manipulation of certain management controls, with little or no effect on requisition effectiveness or order processing workload.
