Techniques of Determining Ionospheric Structure from Oblique Radio Propagation Measurements.

Computer techniques are developed to home the ray at a specified location with specified accuracy. Several methods have been investigated whereby oblique radio propagation data can be used to obtain ionospheric profiles. In one method the optimum quasiparabolic layer can be found that is supposed to fit the given data within a tolerable error. Another method makes use of the Backus-Gilbert inversion technique.
