Investigation of Plastic Pipe for Use by the Corps of Engineers.

摘要

This report presents the findings of a study of commercially available plastic pipe used for water distribution,plumbing,drain-waste-vent (DWV),and sewage systems. The study included a survey of military and civilian users of plastic pipe to determine acceptance, a review of model building codes and standards,and a testing program involving the making of joints under different conditions,chemical and mechanical cleaning of DWV piping,and water hammer tests of plastic pipe plumbing. Results of the study indicate that plastic pipe is an acceptable substitute for metallic pipe in many applications and should be used whenever possible.
