Performance of an Antenna Sharing the Aperture of a Frequency-Scanned Array.

The normally terminated ports of the directional couplers in a frequency-scanned array can be driven to obtain an auxiliary beam from the antenna without affecting the frequency-scanned pattern. Any interaction between the two beams will appear either as changes in the pattern of the auxiliary beam or in an excess of power dumped into the load terminating the sinuous feed. In this report an antenna with a cosecant-squared auxiliary beam is analyzed to show these effects. (Author)
