Several papers by leading authorities on the design, application, and logistical support of Very High Speed Integrated Circuitry (VHSIC) in communications systems that are emerging in the newly developed state-of-the-art and are being fielded are presented for discussion. The impact of VHSIC on new communications equipments and systems is presented by proponents from the U.S. Army's Electronics Research and Development Command (ERADCOM), the Communications Research and Development Command (CORADCOM), and Communications Electronics Materiel Readiness Command (CERCOM). In addition, three papers from industrial proponents on VHSIC design, application, and support are given. (Author)
