摘要

Preliminary estimates of external nutrient loadings to the three lakes that comprise the Lake Conway system showed nitrogen inputs (3.88 g/sq m/yr) that exceeded established critical levels for lakes. Phosphorus loadings (0.214 g/sq m/yr) were slightly below the range of critical loadings for the system. These loadings would indicate that the Lake Conway system should exhibit a mesotrophic character. Loading levels established for the individual lakes showed higher loadings to the northern lakes of the system which received drainage from a more extensive residential area. Experimental evidence indicates that phosphorus became a limiting factor in the lake breifly during spring and early summer of 1977. (Author)
