A Study of the Human Visual System in Support of Automated Feature Extraction

摘要

An in-depth study of the anatomy and architecture of the visual system was conducted. Signal processing along the visual pathway was analyzed. The functions of the major components of the visual system were studied and the number of neurons determined. A comparison of the visual system with a computer was made. The concept of a feature extraction system was developed and discussed. (Author)
