摘要

The pendant drop method is used to determine the surface energy of epoxy resins and resin mixtures. Epon 828, a liquid bisphenol A-epichlorohydrin resin, affords a surface energy (gamma) of 42.89 + or- 0.46 mNm sub 1 at 75 deg with a temperature coefficient of -0.111 mNm sub 1/deg C. After heating, mixtures of Epon 828 and its higher molecular weight homologue, Epon 1007F, yield surface energies which gradually decrease with time. Surface energies of amine-Epon 828 adhesives are reported as a function of temperature, cure time, and resin concentration.
