Existence Theorem for the Dirichlet Initial-Boundry Value Problem in Incompressible Nonlinear Elasticity

Many elastic materials, such as rubber, can be subjected to large volume-preserving deformation, but show little compressibility. Such materials are often modelled as incompressible elastic solids. In this paper, the authors study the initial-boundary value problem for the differential equations describing such materials and prove that it is well-posed.
