Electronic Structure of Fibonacci Copolymers and Superlattices

摘要

The electronic spectrum of quasi-one-dimensional Fibonacci copolymers has been calculated numerically for a realistic valence band conduction band situation. It is shown that the density of states of a n-th generation Fibonacci quantum well structure can be interpreted as a superposition of the spectra of two periodic superlattices of Fn-2(A2B) and Fn-3(AB) segments. The ratio of the peak intensity in the band gap discontinuity regions is given by the golden mean tau. Absorption spectrum and negative conductance measurements are proposed. Reprints.(mjm)
