Dwell Time and Average Local Speed in a Resonant Tunneling Structure.

We show that the dwell times and the average local speeds of an electron in a resonant tunneling structure depend sensitively on the matching parameter at the interfaces. We point out that there is a need to carry out microscopic calculations to find out which matching parameter is appropriate for a given structure. Reprints. (rrh)
