摘要

Microcompression is a technique that was developed as a means to probe the properties of micrometer-sized specimens using amodification of a conventional nanoindentation system. We use this technique to present the first uniaxial compressive data onelectrodeposited nanocrystalline nickel (a material system where the grain size is much smaller than the specimen size). Thecompression-tension asymmetry of this nanocrystalline material is also discussed.
