Norway's Sintef,along with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology at Trondheim,are to promote a new Centre for E-Field and Integrated Operations to teach industry professionals how to maximise recovery and optimise operations using smart wells,and a host of other information technologies.With backing from major operators and contractors,the Research Council of Norway,and the Institute for Energy Technology,the prize is estimated to be a NKr300mn increase in revenue at every offshore field,based on 75/b oil and enhanced recovery of between 5% and 10% of reserves using integrated operations tools.
