Angola:Big prizes for Eni,Total and Petrobras

THE RELINQUISHED parts of three of the country's most prolific deep-water blocks were won by Eni,Total and Petrobras,as operators,when state-owned Sonangol made its 2005 licensing round offers in May.Also offered large stakes in the three prize blocks was China's state-owned Sinopec,which is to be Sonangol's partner in a new refinery and has become a large buyer of Angolan crude (PE 5/06 p28).
