Iraq ExxonMobil has called for bids for its 60% stake in the technical services agreement covering Iraq's West Qurna-1 project. Only companies pre-qualified by the Iraqi oil ministry will be eligible for the stake, Iraq's deputy prime minister for energy, Hussein Shahristani, told Dow Jones he expected the sale to be finalised by the end of 2012. ExxonMobil and partner Shell entered West Qurna-1 in 2010. They have increased production from the field from 244,000 b/d to 400,000 b/d. The partners are paid a fee of $1.90/b for each barrel it pumps above the 244,000 b/d baseline.
