摘要

Dan Crane sold his boat, a beautiful 44-foot fiberglass troller-longliner, for $10. And he thinks he might have gotten a great price considering the nightmare he drove into on August 11. The Homer, Alaska fisherman and his son Vernon had been fishing hard for halibut and blackcod and were running to Yakutat to sell the catch. Crane nodded off, and his son, too. But the autopilot was supposed to keep the boat on course. Around 4 a.m., Crane noticed the water was getting a lot rougher. In fact, his boat, El Cazador, was in the breakers along a remote beach near Dry Bay, 60 miles southeast of Yakutat.
