There are many shades of green chemistry. The future goal is to maintain and promote technologies which show significant environmental improvements within the complete life cycle of a consumer product. Environmental, social and ethical requirements have to be respected globally. Cosmetic raw materials can either be improved by using innovative production technologies or by applying new product properties during the manufacture of the final composition. The technology of enzymatic esterifications reduces the emission of greenhouse gases during production by more than 60% compared to conventional chemical processing.
