"Perspectives". I rather like the name of this column. I suppose that is understandable. After all I helped pick it. But the reason I am drawn to the title is because the perspectives we hold are vitally important as we try to understand the way the world around us works. Perspectives are often subtle and nuanced. Perspectives lend color and texture to our perception of our world. It is important for all of us to spend some time examining "the big picture" in a way that allows us to find our place in it. It is prudent to look for the combination of large and small forces that affect us so that we can begin to look for the measurable ways in which we in turn impact the world around us.
