A majority of the US House voted to pass legislation HR 2354, which would limit the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) authority to act in several key areas, including pesticide cancellation and suspensions related to the protection of endangered species, pesticide product brand names and Clean Water Act (CWA) clearances for pesticide use near or on water, according to a recent press report. The restrictions were added in the FY12 Interior and Environment Appropriations bill, from which the EPA and other agencies are funded.
