With spring quickly progressing to summer, schools will be let out, neighborhood pools will once again be jammed, and summer camps and sports leagues of all varieties will swing into action. It's the time that school-aged kids have been thinking about since the last day of summer the previous year. While it's the season of fun and sun, unfortunately it also is when we see an increase in traumatic injuries in the general population. Additionally, the wanning temperatures bring the risk of aquatic and solar insults.Educating and preparing our patients, parents, and coaches to limit these risks may help them enjoy a summer free of trips to the clinic or emergency room.
