The old saying goes, "You can't get there from here." It certainly applies to many workers and companies in our industry today. "Here" is the western Canadian oilpatch during spring breakup 2009. No exploration, no drilling, no construction, no jobs, and for many, no hope. Those lucky enough to stay employed may face a pay cut.
