Geologists used to say that"oil is found in the minds of men."At the Global Petroleum Show,one member after another of Petroleum Technology Alliance Canada(PTAC)described petroleum recovery as a function of technology.Perhaps PTAC's axiom is an updated version of the older adage.In a series of technical presentations titled Ramping up Recovery,PTAC representatives described in detail their conclusion that the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin has plenty more oil and gas to produce.However,they say,much depends on technology.
