In the 60 years that Oilweek has chronicled our industry,there's an event of enormous significance that demands explanation primarily because it's coming to an end.It's the Alberta government's historical support for,and current abandonment of,Alberta's junior and domestic exploration and production companies.It hasn't gotten much press,but this may be the biggest"unintended conse-quence"of the Stelmach government's royalty review.It's a major reversal of policies that have indelibly shaped our industry.
