According to an IHS Energy report, Saudi Arabia's military intervention in Yemen will not be enough to resolve the county's conflict with the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in central and southern Yemen's oil and gas fields. Yemen's oil production has been falling over the past few years from 455,000 bbl/d (2001) to 134,000 bbl/d (2014). LNG output is also at risk from sabotage, fighting and collateral damage, which includes a 100,000 bbl/d pipeline attack that occurred in 2014 in Marib Province. Yemen's revenues from LNG alone produce $660 million per year for the government.
