Just because something is legal, that doesn't make it right. I know. I used this opener in my January column. I had thought this kind of statement was self-evident—common sense—and didn't need to be substantiated or repeated. Apparently I was wrong. In January, the topic was the apparent pervasiveness of insider trading by members of Congress. Something that, as I am sure I don't have to remind any of you who might be working at a publicly traded company, is illegal in the corporate world.
