A question of value

Before visiting the British Ceramics Biennial I had already met James Duck, having worked with him at The Kiln Rooms during his summer break from the RCA. James is in person as his work portrays - quiet and unassuming, yet full of ideas and playful wit. Having spoken with him, I realise it is no accident how varied an interpretation of his work can be - he is all too aware of its innuendo-styled commentary on the social, political and economic situations affecting not only ceramics, but society in general.
