My exhibition at Fenton House,The Colourful World of Black and White,is derived from two contrasting bodies of work. The first is on the historically important but derelict Victorian West Pier at Brighton, deemed unsafe and closed 30 years ago.For decades it stood abandoned, becoming home to seabirds, pigeons and huge flocks of starlings. With restoration, access to the shore was re-established,and the pier partially reopened for fundraising tours to selected safe areas.
