The Octagon, Whichford Pottery's stunning new exhibition space, is set in an idyllic rural location on the edge of the Cotswolds. Over the past thirty years Whichford Pottery has earned a worldwide reputation for its handmade English terracotta flowerpots. Jim, Dominique and Adam Keeling, have been committed to continuing traditional production ware techniques and long-term employment for its twenty-plus local employees (including seven throwers). The Octagon aims to raise awareness of craft through educational events and exhibitions. The British food industry has successfully campaigned for the benefits of locally grown and organic produce. Using the Octagon as a focus, Whichford Pottery intends to investigate and promote parallel ideas for the crafts.
