The 1st International Conference on Advances in Biotechnology-Industrial Microbial Biotechnology was organized bilaterally by Professor M. Liakopoulou-Kyriakides (Faculty of Chemical Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece) and Professor Emad Fawzy Eskader (Hormones Department, NRC, Dokki, Cairo, Egypt) on November 3-5 of 2010 in Thessaloniki, Greece. The established conference highlighted cutting-edge advances in all major disciplines of Biotechnology and Industrial Microbial Biotechnology and brought together scientists from all over the world. The specific topics covered in the 3 days Conference were distributed in parallel sessions: Plant Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Food Technology, Microbial food Biotechnology, Biofuels and Biocatalysts, Bionanotechnology and Biomateri-als, Molecular Genetics, Bioremediation, Biomedicine and Bioengineering.
