Japan's DIC Corp. predicts further sales declines as year-end results take a battering

Japanese inks and chemicals firm DIC Corp. has forecast continuing double-digit sales declines at its operating segments in 2010. Graphic arts materials, including inks, and industrial materials, which include resins for coatings, plus high performance and applied products, are expected to lose between 11% and 14% in sales in the next fiscal year, which starts 1 April 2009. Only in the electronics and information materials segment does DIC expect to lose a low single digit amount (-2.4%) compared to the previous year.
