AkzoNobel has continued its acquisition strategy by buying the worldwide assets of Swedish-based Lindgens Metal Decorative Coatings and Inks. Closing is expected to take place in the third quarter of this year. The deal adds technology and expertise to Akzo's own packaging coatings activities, particularly in the market for inks printed on the outside of two-piece metal packaging. The deal, which includes a majority stake in the Server Boya joint venture in Turkey, also strengthens Akzo's access to important markets in Russia, Turkey and Australia.
