摘要

There has been some interest in multilayer polyelectrolyte films in recent years, but their poor mechanical toughness has thus far limited their use. One approach for improving their mechanical properties is to prepare highly crosslinked polyelectrolyte networks, which requires the development of organic cations and anions bearing multiple polymerisable groups. Recently imidazolium salts with two polymerisable groups have been synthesised. This paper describes the synthesis of borate anions bearing polymerisable groups.
