摘要

The tris(2-mercapto-1-methylbenzimidazolyl)hydroborato cadmium complexes, {T~(mMeBenz)Cd(μ-Cl)}2 and T~(mMeBenz)CdI, have been synthesized via the reactions of T~(mMeBenz)K with CdCl_2 and CdI_2, respectively. While X-ray diffraction studies demonstrate that the iodide derivative, T~(mMeBenz)CdI, is a monomer, the chloride derivative, {T~(mMeBenz)Cd(μ-Cl)}_2, exists as a dimer, which is unprecedented for Group 12 Tm~RMX (X = Cl, Br, I) compounds. Furthermore, the cadmium centers of {T~(mMeBenz)Cd(μ-Cl)}_2 are trigonal bipyramidal, which is an uncommon motif for cadmium complexes with a S_3Cl_2 coordination sphere.
