摘要

San Antonio-based CPS Energy has renegotiated its 25-year electricity purchase contract with the Texas Clean Energy Project (TCEP), a coal gasification to power project with ammonia/urea and sulphuric acid side streams and integrated carbon capture and storage (CCS), based 15 miles west of Odessa, Texas. The move is actually something of a lifeline for TCEP, which looked to be going the way of most other coal gasification projects in the US, dating as they do from an era of expensive gas and cheap coal, CPS had allowed its previous sales agreement with TCEP to lapse, but a guaranteed (albeit lower) price for TCEP's projected 400MW of power production allows developers Summit Power Group to try to move once more towards financial closure of the $2.5-3.5 billion project.
