IEA: Coal Demand to Fall After 2023 Peak

The International Energy Agency (IEA) says global coal demand will hit an all-time high of 8.54 billion tons in 2023, but forecasts that itwill then fall modestly over the next three years to 8.34 billion tons in 2026. In its latest annual report on the global coal market, the agency says the EU and the US will each see coal demand fall by around 20this year, but that demand is set to increase by 8 in India and 5 in China.
