With a firm breeding objective set for his Dohne Merino flock, Wagin (Western Australia) farmer Clayton South figured electronic identification of his breeding ewes was a logical next step.When Clayton came back to the farm 10 years ago, cropping had taken off in terms of precision agriculture; he sees the move towards electronic sheep identification (elD) as being a way of taking that same approach to sheep.
