Trading activity in the Mediterranean Sea, especially in the eastern part of thebasin, has been increasing in early July. Major buyers from the Middle East andNorth Africa keep raising imports, the number of available ships having droppednotably. Demand for vessels of a 5,000-8,000 t deadweight is still strong andmany charterers are using ships over 35 years old.
