GSMA joins Central America telecom watchdog body as observer

The GSMA announced at MWC that it has joined the Regional Technical Committee on Telecommunications of Central America (Comtelca) as an observer member. Comtelca brings together telecoms regulators in eight® Central American countries-Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama and the Dominican Republic participating as an associate member. The GSMA said it was joining with a view to "contributing the vision of the mobile ecosystem and its impact on socioeconomic development within Central America and the Caribbean".
