2015 so far mainly brought bad news for biofuel investors. In addition to the price declines in crude oil, there is ongoing uncertainty over future biofuel demand in the US and the EU as key legislation such as the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) and a possible reform of the Renewable Energy Directive (RED) have not been fixed yet. Investment sentiment in Asia and Latin America has also cooled down, but long-term perspectives there are more positive on the back of rising fuel needs.
