Grumman's Big Cat

From the off I guess that there is no need to tell the story of the F-14 Tomcat. Normally I like to begin my articles with a little history of the subject being modelled, but in this case as we know the aircraft is no longer in US service that makes such things rather redundant! Mind you, some of these magnificent fighters are still in service with the Iranian Air Force, so maybe we should...! What I will do instead is try and describe in detail how I made the F-14 that you can see here. When I decided that I wanted to build a Tomcat in 1/48, I knew that I wanted to build something special and not just another model. I therefore spent plenty of time scouring my references and the Internet until I found the aircraft that you see here. Magnificent isn't she?!
