NEGOTIATING PRICES ON a long term basis - to be indexed in some way to the steel price - will inevitably be the way of the future for the iron ore market. Furthermore, the sector was still not conducive for the successful participation of junior companies. These were two observations made by Hatch Corporate Finance chief executive Rod Beddows, who was speaking during the Australian Journal of Mining's recent annual iron ore and steel forecast in Perth.
