At $22,000/tonne we would expect a notable shift away from imported nickel and stainless scrap use in China and back into the more economic domestic NPI alternative. In theory, we believe that this shift would have started to occur when LME nickel prices were starting to get a strong foothold at the $20,000/level, which occurred three weeks ago just before the Chinese Lunar New Year holiday.
