The global markets demand higher efficiency, top quality and a better final product at lower cost and faster payback. The rigidity of the traditional integrated steel plants and more and more stringent environmental regulations are further key factors leading to a new approach and philosophy in steelmaking. Based on the new processes and technologies described above, Techint's research and development activities have successfully met the most significant environmental targets, namely, maximizing the use of waste materials, the recovery of byproducts, dust and pollutant emission control and energy saving within the framework of a sustainable development for the present and future generations.
