James Hricko, Architect of Warrenton custom designed the Piedmont Press & Graphics building to be split for two uses. Half of the 20,000 sq. ft. structure is a full-service graphic arts company, while the other half is commercial rental space. To conceal the commercial nature of the facility, it has numerous aesthetic design elements. The main entrance of the printing company has a vaulted, oriental portico recessed into the building. It has a raised ceiling and tall transom windows above the doors. The secondary entrance has a similar design. Both feature a flying gable roof. Extending from one entrance to the other, and along the full-length of the building, is a front canopy. Cantilevered canopies also cover the back loading docks. Topping all of the canopies, entrances and the roof of the building are 23,641 sq. ft. of 24-gauge Galvalume steel ShurLok metal roofing. Gulf States Manufacturing of Starksville, MS, provided the Heather Gray-colored panels, which were installed on a 2-3/8:12 double-sloping roof configuration.
