摘要

Experimental and simple analytical investigations have been performed on modulation-frequency-sweeping optical frequency-domain reflectometry (hereafter OFDR) technique for fibre diagnostic purposes. The experimental results are in good agreement with those obtained by computer simulations. Signal-to-noise-ratio improvement of more than 50 dB is expected by using a synchronous-detection type of filtering process. The results well confirm the diagnostic ability of the technique.
