A new species ofIlyocryptusSars from Bafra Balikgölü in Samsun, is described and figured. The shape and armature of Ilyocryptus samsuni n.sp. resemblesI. sordidus(Liévin), butI. samsunin.sp. differs fromI. sordidus(Liévin) by the absence of ramified setae along the valve rims, and the occurrence of complete moult
