Desmids from Guma Valley (Sierra Leone, West Africa)

Twenty-two taxa of desmids are reported from a pool near Guma Valley (Sierra Leone). Six are new to the country. A new variety ofStaurastrum hystrix(S. hystrixvar.granulatum) is described.
